Intro Messages let you send a short message to someone before you've matched — giving you a better chance of catching their attention and getting a match.
When you send an Intro Message:
- It is always sent together with a Like — you can't send one on its own
- The recipient can read your message before they decide to Like you back
- Your message can be up to 400 characters long
Is this feature available to me?
Intro Messages are available on iOS, Android, and Web/Mobile Web. For the app, you'll need to be on version 7.6.0 or above.
Here's the current status as of 25 February 2026:
- Android: Due to a known issue with version 7.6.0, only a small number of Android users currently have access. An updated version is coming soon.
- iOS (Jdate & LDS only): The 7.6.0 update for Jdate and LDS is still awaiting Apple approval. Users on these brands don't have access yet — but once the update is approved, it will become available automatically if you have automatic updates turned on. Users on all other brands with version 7.6.0 already have access.
- Web & Mobile Web: Fully available for all brands.
If you're still not seeing the feature, check that your app is up to date.
