Meeting new people should be fun and safe. The vast majority of members are genuine, but a few simple habits will help you protect yourself while getting to know someone.
Protect your personal information
- Keep your full name, home and work address, and daily routine private until you truly trust someone.
- Never share financial information such as bank details or card numbers.
- No one you meet on Christian Mingle should ever ask you for money. Requests for money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency are the clearest sign of a scam — stop contact and report the member.
Watch for warning signs
- They quickly want to move off Christian Mingle to text, email, or another app.
- They profess strong feelings very fast, or always avoid video calls and in-person meetings.
- Their story doesn't add up, or there's always an emergency that requires money.
Verify before you meet
- Look for the blue verified badge, and verify your own profile so others can trust you too. See How do I verify my profile?
- Have a video call before meeting in person — the simplest way to confirm someone is who they claim to be.
Meet safely in person
- Meet in a public place for the first few dates and arrange your own transportation.
- Tell a friend or family member where you'll be, and keep your phone charged.
- If anything feels off, you don't owe anyone an explanation — leave.
If something goes wrong, use Block & Report to remove and report any member who makes you uncomfortable. Reports are anonymous and our team reviews every one. See How do I report suspicious or inappropriate behavior?
