A Christian Mingle “Possible fraud alert” concerns another member you talked to, not about your account. Their profile was flagged for suspicious activity and removed while we review it. Your membership isn’t affected, and you don’t need to do anything to keep it. As a precaution, stop contact with that member and never send them money or financial details.
If you received an email from Christian Mingle with the subject "Possible fraud alert," it's about another member you interacted with, not about your own account.
Why you got this email
We watch for accounts that may be using a false identity or trying to defraud members. When we flag an account for suspicious activity, we remove the profile while our team reviews it, and we email every member who interacted with it. The email names the profile by its username, age and city so you can tell which conversation it's about.
What the email does and doesn't mean
- It means the profile was flagged for suspicious activity and removed as a precaution.
- It does not mean the member has been confirmed as fraud. Our team still reviews the profile.
- It does not change your account or your subscription in any way. You don't need to do anything to keep your membership.
What to do
- Stop contact with that member, on Christian Mingle and anywhere else (text, phone, email or social media).
- Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or financial details to anyone you've met online.
- If you shared financial information or sent money, contact your bank or card provider right away.
- If you were threatened or harmed, contact your local law enforcement.
If the profile is restored
If our review finds the profile was flagged in error and we restore it, we send a follow-up email, the fraud alert retraction, to everyone who received the original alert. Even then, follow our safety tips when you talk with anyone online.
Is the email really from us?
The email comes from Christian Mingle Notifications at hello@notifications.christianmingle.com. We will never ask you for payment details, your one-time code or other personal information in a fraud alert. If you're unsure about any email, don't click its links. Go to support.christianmingle.com and contact us from there.
