Intro Messages let you send a short note along with a Like to introduce yourself before someone decides whether to Like you back.
What Is an Intro Message?
An Intro Message is a message of up to 400 characters that's sent together with a Like. The recipient can read your message before deciding whether to Like you back.
Before you get started, keep these things in mind:
- An Intro Message is always sent with a Like and can't be sent on its own.
- Sending an Intro Message uses one of your available Intro Messages.
- You can always send a regular Like without including an Intro Message.
Where You Can Send Intro Messages
You can send an Intro Message when liking a profile from:
- Discover
- Recommended
How to Send an Intro Message
- Open a profile in Discover or Recommended.
- Tap Send Intro next to the Dislike and Like buttons.
- Enter your message (up to 400 characters).
- Tap Send.
Your Intro Message and Like will be sent together.
If you don't want to include a message, tap Send a Like Only to send a regular Like instead. You can also close the dialog by tapping outside of it.
First-Time Like
If you're sending your first Like, or you're using a device for the first time, tapping the Like button will open the Intro Message dialog. This one-time prompt lets you know that you can include an Intro Message with your Like.
How Many Intro Messages Can I Send?
- Basic (Free): 3 Intro Messages every 7 days
- Premium: 20 Intro Messages every 7 days
Your Intro Message allowance resets on a rolling 7-day basis, which means each Intro Message becomes available again seven days after it's sent.
If you've used all of your Intro Messages:
- Basic members will be prompted to upgrade to Premium.
- Premium members will see when their next Intro Message becomes available.
