Quick answer: Blocks come from safety, security, or location issues. Some accounts can be restored by verifying your identity; if yours cannot be, Customer Support can review it.
- Available only in the US, Canada, Australia, and US territories
- VPN or proxy connections can trigger our security systems
- Contact details in your profile violate the Terms of Service
- Harassment, scams, fake profiles, or multiple accounts cause blocks
- Some blocked accounts can be restored by verifying your identity — see How do I appeal a blocked account?
Contact Customer Support using your account email and describe the situation.
If you're seeing a message that your account is blocked, it means access has been restricted. This can happen for security, community-safety, or legal reasons. Depending on why it was blocked, you may be able to restore it yourself by verifying your identity — if your account qualifies, you will see a Verify my identity button on the blocked account screen. If you do not see that button, contact Customer Support and our team can review your account and explain the next steps.
Common reasons an account is blocked
- You're outside a supported location. Christian Mingle is available only in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the outlying U.S. territories. If you sign in from outside these areas — for example while traveling — your account may be blocked and you'll need to contact Customer Support once you return to a supported location.
- You're using a VPN or proxy. A VPN can make it look like you're connecting from an unsupported location, and it can trigger our security systems. Turn off any VPN or proxy prior to accessing Christian Mingle.
- Personal or contact information was added to your profile. Adding a phone number, email address, social media handles, or external links to your profile is against our Terms of Service and can lead to a block. Keep your conversations and details on Christian Mingle until you truly trust someone.
- A violation of our Terms of Service. Blocks can result from behavior such as harassment, scams or solicitation, fake or impersonated profiles, inappropriate content, creating multiple accounts, or not meeting our age and eligibility requirements.
- Suspicious or automated activity. Unusual sign-in patterns or activity that looks automated can trigger a protective block on your account.
How to resolve it
First, check whether you can appeal. Sign in on the Christian Mingle website — identity verification is not available in the apps yet. If your account qualifies, the blocked account screen shows a Verify my identity button. Verifying takes a few minutes, and accounts that pass are restored automatically. For the full steps, see How do I appeal a blocked account?.
Blocks that come from a chargeback, or from breaking our Terms of Service, cannot be resolved through identity verification. If you do not see the Verify my identity button, or verification does not pass:
Contact our Customer Support team. Use the email address associated with your account, select the most relevant topic, and briefly describe what happened. Our team will review your account and let you know what can be done.
If you have a paid subscription
Being blocked changes what happens to your subscription, and what you need to do depends on where you bought it. See What happens to my subscription if my account is blocked?.
